The assignment that was my favorite was the media curation assignments. Those were my favorite due to the fact that I was able to use some of my favorite interests in order to complete those assignments. Out of those three, my favorite was the media curation assignment three where we got to talk about YouTube creators. I found it interested because YouTube creators are not really talked about often and if they are it is usually because they messed up at some point in their careers. Those assignments allowed me to introduce new people to some of my favorite influencers.

Have you changed the way you engage with media since taking this class? Why or why not? Yes, since taking this class the way that I engage with social media has changed. Since taking the class the way that we interact with social media has made me realize how much social media actually does affect our daily lives especially for those who work in that field. After watching the documentary titled Generation Like it gave a real in site to how much people rely on social media as a way of income even with the risk that it may not work out people are still willing to try anyway which I think is a great thing.

I think after curating my professional online presence and e-Portfolio has improved in the sense that I was able to make myself seem even more professional to any potential employer. Also, potential employers are able to see what I have recently been able to accomplish within my communication classes as a student. It also allows for anyone to be able to see sample writings from COMM372T in an organized way.

If I could give any advice to future COMM372T students or just students in general about designing an e-Portfolio. It would be when your designing your ePortfolio be creative about it but not so much so that it does not look professional. Do not use any photos that are not professional looking. By this, I mean no Snapchat, or Instagram pictures that have any filters on it. Meaning no dog ears or any other kind of filters. Essentially do not use any pictures that you do not want your potential boss to see. Try planning your layout on paper even though you can edit on your computer later. I have found that planning it out beforehand helps get your ideas together and it saves time on editing the site later. Making an ePortfolio it does take time so if you are one of those students that have to finish what you start the day you start then try carving out at least four or five hours for editing. If you are one of those students that can start the site one day and come back and edit it another then you should be fine but try to edit the site for at least an hour to two hours a day. Try to remember to blog, personally I forgot to do it due to my schedule being so full, but I guess that circles back to time management. Your e-portfolio can be used for a number of things such as updating potential employers on your academic activities as a student. You can also link any social media accounts to your e-portfolio. However, make sure your social media is appropriate for potential employers or internship handlers to look at. If your social media has anything on it that you would not feel comfortable with anyone seeing, try cleaning it up before you link it to your portfolio. When adding your resume make sure it is up to date.
